Our vacation home Casa Verde is a charming country house, dated from 1897, fully  renovated in 2001, with a beautiful  Mediterranean garden, exotic planting, fruit trees and terraced olive groves.

Located in the green hills of Dolceacqua, Casa Verde enjoys a sunny and peaceful location with wide views over the medieval town of Dolceacqua, the beautiful Nervia valley and Maritime Alps. The surrounding 6,000 m2 grounds are laid out in terraces and completely fenced in. On the property as well as in front of the gate is space for some cars. The property offers various areas to relax, several terraces around the house offer sun or shade spots. A number of well looked after country houses are dotted around the neighborhood.

 

Dolceacqua and surrounding 

Dolceacqua offers a good infrastructure with a selection of bars, restaurants, oil and wine tasting, shopping facilities, art shops, tennis/padel courts and can be easily accessed along a well-constructed mountain road in some 10 minutes from our house. The famous French artist Claude Monet painted the bridge with the Doria castle in 1884 and it is worth to visit also the paved alleys, called "i caruggi", which lead you to the castle.

The coastal resorts of Bordighera and Ventimiglia are only about 20 minutes away and the Côte d’Azur with Menton, Monte Carlo (30 min) and the international airport in Nice, is less than one hour’s drive away. A hiking paradise "valley of wonder" is about 40 minutes away. But there are nice hiking trails also starting from our house. In winter season the skiing resort Limone/Piemonte is within 1.5-hour reach.
